Micro:bit
Discover Series
Learn the basics of coding using a micro:bit and a variety of sensors. Students develop an understanding of a input-output systems and how they can be used to perform various functions.
Year: 7 – 12 Class Size: 25
Program Overview
Introduction to Physical Computing
A micro:bit is a codable microcontroller device. Students learn to upload code to micro:bits and control outputs such as lights, speakers, and motors. they will also explore inputs like microphones, light sensors, and ultrasonic distance sensors.
Remote Control and Real-World Applications
Students will will learn how to control devices remotely using radio or IoT (Internet of Things) and apply this knowledge by installing these devices in prototype or products.
Code Challenge: Solving problems
Students will apply their coding skills by creating code to complete a challenge task. This hands-on learning experience will encourage problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork.
