This production engaged five students from Whittlesea Secondary College were able to to explore music composition using a range of recording, sequencing and performance devices. The music students developed an understanding of electronic instruments and how sound is generated through oscillators and shaped through filters and modulation.
The Launch of Techfest took place at the National Gallery of Victoria. Students from Mill Park Secondary College were able to participate in the day’s activities. The Minister for Education James Merlino joined Tech School students for the launch of Tech Fest and embarked on the Melbourne Design Week Challenge ‘e-waste evolution’.
We are pleased to introduce the new co-directors of the Whittlsea Tech School. At the begining of February Dr Sandra McKechnie and Dr Stefan Schutt joined us in sharing the role of Whittlesea Directors. Together they have an impressive skill set and hold a passion for creating opportunities for young people.
The biotech pilot planning is progressing well. The planning group experienced a reciprocal visit and were welcomed by Parade College who showed us their school and even gave a glimpse of their exciting new Nash Centre.
