Last term, we introduced a new program to Year 9 students from Epping Secondary College, “Entrepreneurship: Tech Exposure”. During three action-packed days, the students channelled their creativity to design unique vending machines using a variety of technologies.
To create the various components, students up-skilled in three digital tools. They learned 3D modelling to design the shape of their machine. They experimented with block coding and microcontrollers to program basic functions, such as lights, buttons, and sensors. They also dabbled in image editing and graphic design to create stickers and logos.
The students left the program ready to tackle exciting challenges ahead, and with the digital skills to empower them in their future design journeys. We could not be prouder of them and their rapid grasp of the ever-evolving tech world. Special thanks to Shang Wang for developing this program and to our wonderful STEM Communication Officers for delivering this fantastic experience.
