On December 7th we celebrated our Student Ambassadors of 2023 with an exhibition and presentation night. The students embarked on a new challenge – creating their own interactive STEAM project to be exhibited in the Whittlesea Tech School Exhibition Space – and we couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved.
At the beginning of the year, our partner schools selected four students to represent their school as Student Ambassadors. These students visited the Tech School once per term to work together on projects that gave them the opportunity to learn new technologies, develop communication and interpersonal skills, and make new friends.
In small groups, students brainstormed, planned and developed project ideas which led to the construction of a variety of prototypes. As the year drew to a close, students finalised their prototypes, ready for exhibition. The types of projects undertaken ranged from infinity mirrors and interactive art to retro-style math-based arcade games and programmed race cars.
Throughout the year, our students have truly demonstrated the qualities we look for in Student Ambassadors: curiosity, open-mindedness, perseverance, creativity, enthusiasm, and collaboration. It has been wonderful to watch them grow, achieve their goals, learn new skills, and form new friendships. We would like to congratulate them on all they have achieved this year and look forward to seeing them again next year. Well done!
